Buddha Statue inaugurated at Eco Park Padum to promote peace, tourism

In a major step towards promoting pilgrimage tourism and spreading the message of peace, compassion, and universal harmony, the Zanskar Development Authority (ZDA) inaugurated a Buddha statue at the newly developed Eco Park near the Gonpa Association Complex/Forest Bagh, Padum, on August 27.
The statue was inaugurated by Executive Councillor for RDD/PRI and Zanskar Development Authority, LAHDC Kargil, Er. Punchok Tashi, in the presence and with the blessings of His Eminence Lochen Tulku Rinpochey.
The event was attended by the President and Executive Members of the Zanskar Gonpa Association, the Executive Engineer ZDA, and several other dignitaries.
On the occasion, Er. Punchok Tashi lauded the efforts of the executing agency and the contractor for ensuring quality workmanship and adhering to proper specifications during construction.
His Eminence Lochen Tulku Rinpochey blessed the site and offered prayers for peace and harmony. He expressed hope that the installation of the Buddha statue will further strengthen universal brotherhood and give a significant boost to pilgrimage tourism in the Zanskar Valley.
