Suru Summer Festival 2025 logo launched by CEC Dr. Jaffer Akhoon

Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor (CEC), LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd. Jaffer Akhoon unveiled the official logo for the Suru Summer Festival 2025 at a ceremony held at the Council Secretariat on July 29.
The event was attended by Executive Councillors Kacho Mohd Feroz and Aga Syed Mujtaba, Additional Deputy Commissioner Imteeaz Kacho, Councillors Liyaqat Ali and Aga Ain-ul-Huda, and Assistant Director, Tourism Department Kargil, Muhammad Ali Tak.
Scheduled to be held on August 26, 2025, the Suru Summer Festival is being organized for the first time by the Department of Tourism, UT Ladakh, in collaboration with LAHDC Kargil and the District Administration. The event will span multiple locations across Suru Valley, including Ashana, Khumbathang, Karpo Khar, Namsuru, Kochik, Damsna, and nearby villages.
The festival promises a vibrant blend of adventure, culture, and nature, featuring a wide array of activities such as paragliding, rafting, rock climbing, rappelling, cycling, and a motorcycle rally. Complementing the adventure segment will be cultural performances, ethnic food stalls, nature walks, and photography opportunities, highlighting the region’s rich heritage and natural beauty.
In a significant recognition, National Geographic has listed Suru Valley among the 25 best places to visit in the world in 2025, adding further prestige to the event.
The festival aims to promote the valley’s cultural vibrancy, adventure tourism potential, and unique local traditions, and is expected to draw both domestic and international tourists, giving a boost to the local economy and sustainable tourism in the region.
