Deputy Commissioner/CEO, LAHDC Kargil, Rakesh Kumar (IAS), chaired a preparatory meeting in his office chamber on August 19 to review arrangements for the upcoming 5th Edition of the LG Horse Polo Cup 2025, scheduled to be held in Kargil from August 24 to 28.
     
The meeting was attended by the Joint Director Planning; District Sheep Husbandry Officer; DYSP Kargil; Chief Medical Officer; Executive Officer, Municipal Committee Kargil; District Youth Services & Sports Officer (DYSSO) Kargil; Executive Engineers of PHE and Mechanical Division; Assistant Director Information; Principal GDC Kargil; representative of Hr. Sec. School Drass; Deputy Secretary, Culture; and CAHO, who joined virtually.

At the outset, DYSSO Kargil, Abid Ali, apprised the chair about the preparedness for the event, after which the DC issued instructions to the concerned departments for time-bound action.

The DC emphasized that all arrangements should follow past best practices while ensuring the optimal use of government assets. He reviewed preparations relating to power supply, security, police deployment, cultural programmes, PAS system, publicity through media, decoration, sanitation, mobile toilets, rollers, and water tankers at the venue.

Further, he directed the DYSSO to coordinate with NHPC and Power Grid for accommodation and water tankers, and to liaise with the concerned departments regarding lodging for participants and officials. The DC also stressed the inclusion of cultural performances during the opening and closing ceremonies, directing the Deputy Secretary, Culture, to make necessary arrangements.

Concluding the meeting, the DC exhorted all line departments to work in close coordination to ensure the successful conduct of the LG Horse Polo Cup 2025.
