Strengthening foundational learning: Ladakh schools hold Vidya Pravesh test

The Vidya Pravesh Test was successfully conducted across schools in Ladakh on August 23, marking a significant step towards strengthening foundational learning among young students in the Union Territory. The initiative, in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, aims to ensure that every child achieves age-appropriate Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) skills.
As part of the review, Dr. Vijayan from NCERT, New Delhi visited Council Model School, Sabu, to assess the programme’s implementation. He praised the school’s systematic functioning, strong academic standards, and effective adoption of FLN practices as per prescribed norms.
Dr. Vijayan commended the headmaster, teachers, and support staff for their dedication in creating a nurturing and effective learning environment. He emphasized that the success of the Vidya Pravesh programme in Ladakh reflects the deep commitment of educators in the region to laying a strong educational foundation for future generations.
The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) Leh reaffirmed its commitment to continue such initiatives, aimed at empowering students with essential skills and ensuring holistic development in line with the vision of NEP 2020.
