Royal family of Bhutan calls on LG Kavinder at Raj Niwas

Her Majesty Queen Mother Ashi Tshering Pem Wangchuk and Her Royal Highness Princess Ashi Kesang Choden Wangchuk of Bhutan paid a courtesy visit to the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, and First Lady, Bindu Gupta, at Raj Niwas on September 9.

Expressing gratitude for the warm hospitality extended during their maiden official visit to Ladakh, the Queen Mother shared her experiences of exploring the region’s landscapes and culture, praising the beauty of Ladakh and the affection of its people.

Welcoming the Royal Family, LG Kavinder Gupta reaffirmed Ladakh’s deep-rooted cultural, spiritual, and economic ties with Bhutan. He noted that such exchanges further strengthen people-to-people connect and highlighted the shared Buddhist heritage that unites the two regions. The LG also briefed the Royal Family on key initiatives taken by the Government of India and the UT Administration to promote Ladakh’s development.

The First Lady, Bindu Gupta, warmly interacted with the Queen Mother and Princess, appreciating Bhutan’s efforts in preserving its cultural traditions while embracing modernity.

The meeting concluded on a cordial note, with both sides expressing hope for enhanced cultural and spiritual collaborations in the future.
