GDC Drass, Indian Army & MKDEI launch defence training node in Drass

Government Degree College (GDC) Drass, in collaboration with the Indian Army and Major Kulthe Defence Education Institute (MKDEI), launched the Drass Warrior Defence Training Node and successfully conducted the entrance examination for aspirants seeking coaching and mentoring for pre-commission training academy exams in the Armed Forces.

The initiative was inaugurated by Lt. Col. Bibanshu Dundiyal, Shaurya Chakra, and Major Saurabh Singh of 5/5 GR (FF), in the presence of Nasir Shabani, Principal GDC Drass, along with faculty members and student aspirants.

A total of 70 students appeared for the entrance exam, representing Government Higher Secondary School Bhimbet, Government Higher Secondary School Drass, and Government Degree College Drass.

This pioneering initiative aims to provide structured preparation and expert mentoring to aspirants from Drass, enabling them to qualify for pre-commission academy examinations including NDA, CDS, and SSC Defence exams.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Nasir Shabani reiterated the college’s commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for the youth of Drass. He emphasized the institution’s vision to empower students to excel in competitive examinations and career pathways on par with their peers across the country.

In his address, Lt. Col. Bibanshu Dundiyal, Shaurya Chakra, assured the Army’s continued support in empowering local youth. He pledged all possible assistance to help students achieve their aspirations of joining the Armed Forces and serving the nation with pride.
