District Youth Services and Sports office marks 'Month of Compassion' with welfare initiatives

The District Youth Services and Sports Office observed the “Month of Compassion” with a series of impactful welfare and cleanliness initiatives aimed at promoting empathy towards animals and the environment, while raising public awareness.
As part of the month-long observance, the department carried out various commendable activities. These included the distribution of food to stray dogs—stretching from the office premises to Shey village—underscoring a strong commitment to animal welfare. In a symbolic gesture of reverence for all life, fish were released into the river (Tsethar), promoting harmony with nature.
Additionally, a cleanliness drive was conducted in and around the office premises and extended to the Skampari area, reinforcing the importance of environmental hygiene and civic responsibility.
The activities, marked by enthusiastic participation from the community, effectively highlighted the values of compassion, kindness, and environmental stewardship.
