Chief Electoral Officer unveils election song

Chief Electoral Officer Yetindra M. Maralkar unveiled a song created by State SVEEP icon Phunchok Ladakhi, to inspire and involve young and first-time voters to participate fully in the voting process.

The event was attended by CEO UT Ladakh Yetindra M. Maralkar as the chief guest, State SVEEP icon Phunchok Ladakh as the guest of honor, Returning Officer Santosh Sukhadeve, District SVEEP icon Stanzin Gya, and Joint CEO and Assistant CEO of the Election Department Ladakh. 

The event also saw enthusiastic participation from officers, officials from different departments, and students from various schools including Government Boys Higher Secondary School, Leh, Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Leh, Lamdon School, Leh and Mahabodhi Residential School, Leh.

In his welcome address, Joint CEO UT Ladakh Sonam Chosjor urged participants and the general public to actively participate in casting their votes on May 20th. Returning Officer Santosh Sukhadeve, District SVEEP icon Stanzin Gya, and a first-time voter also addressed the event, motivating young and first-time voters to cast their votes on election day.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks from the State SVEEP Nodal Officer Dr. Tsewang Morup. CEO UT Ladakh Yetindra M. Maralkar, State SVEEP Icon Phunchok Ladakhi, and RO/DEO Santosh Sukhadeve emphasised on achieving a 100 percent voter turnout in this election and urged young voters to exercise their franchise judiciously and responsibly.
