Awareness program on drug abuse held at GHSS Silmoo and GHS Lalung

The District Drug Addiction Centre (DDAC) Kargil, in collaboration with IKMT, JUIAK, and the Department of Education Kargil, organized an awareness program on drug abuse and its prevention at Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS) Silmoo and Government High School (GHS) Lalung on June 11.
The principals of both schools addressed the students and highlighted the serious and growing issue of drug abuse, stressing the collective social responsibility to raise awareness and protect society from this harmful menace.
The Manager of DDAC Kargil delivered the inaugural address, drawing attention to the rising concerns of drug addiction in the district. He informed the audience about the free treatment and rehabilitation services available at the DDAC Centre and encouraged students and community members to seek timely help and avoid harmful substances.
Syed Raza Razvi from JUIAK delivered a compelling talk to the students, emphasizing the root causes and devastating consequences of drug abuse. He urged students to be vigilant, informed, and proactive in spreading awareness to curb the spread of addiction within the community.
Sheikh Bashir Shakiri, representing IKMT Kargil, underscored the importance of discipline and moral values in resisting harmful behaviors. He called on students to commit to a drug-free lifestyle and become role models for their peers.
Principals of GHSS Silmoo and GHS Lalung, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to DDAC Kargil, IKMT, JUIAK, and the Department of Education for their collaborative efforts in guiding the younger generation toward a healthier, more responsible future.
