Description: Chadar "frozen blanket" is the only way in and out for Zanskaris in winter, when the road is closed due to heavy snowfall at high passes. It has been the traditional trade route in winter for Centuries. The several days walk from chilling to Padum for 10 days gives different experience. It enters into a gorge and temperature drops to -30°C; staying overnight in Caves and walking on frozen river is an ultimate experience for adventure lovers.

One should travel to Chilling by Taxi and from Chilling it enters into a gorge and walks on frozen river up to Pidmo and two days on snow up to Padum. There is no Vehicle to travel back to Leh by Taxi, therefore you should arrange a helicopter to Manali or walk back to Leh by same route. Some travelers prefer to Ski up to Suru Valley and from Suru they return by Jeep to Leh via Kargil.

Description: This trek starts after a drive to Rumtse around 85 kms from Leh near the Gya village, which was seat of power of the Head of Ladakh Gyapacho in the 10th century AD. After a night halt the trek begins. It crosses three passes before Tsokar Lake and another three passes after Tsokar the salt Lake. While trekking in this area, you can visit birds, wild animals and Changpa nomads grazing their herds of goats at the mountains and high passes. The finishing point of the trek is Tsomoriri Lake or Karzok, the head quarter of Nomadic people. Explore Tsomoriri Lake for a day and drive back to Leh.

11. Saboo to Khaltsar

Description: This trek starts from Saboo village around 7 kms from Leh. You will be entering Nubra Valley via Digar La and walk along the Shyok river to Khaltsar from where you can drive to Nubra Valley or drive back to Leh.

12. Hemis to Takh

Description: This trek begins from Hemis monastery, after 20 minutes drive from Leh. It enters Markha valley after crossing Kongmaru La 5135m, after a night halt at beautiful pasture Land of Markha valley with Yaks, Sheep's and Pashmina Goats you enter Rupsho valley. It crosses a village and several passes before you finish your trek at Juktakh at Leh Manali highway. From here you can drive towards Manali via Lahaul or drive back to Leh. Rest for a day in Manali and drive Delhi to fly back home.

13. Spituk to Stok

Description: A superb way to explore Wild life, remote and mysterious Hemis National Park. This Trek will unveil a region inhabited by typical Ladakhi Villages, Wildlife, high pass, great Floras & Fauna and dramatic mountain scenery.

14. Hemis to Tsomoriri

Description: This trek gives you an opportunity to explore Wild life of Hemis National Park,  remote villages and Nomadic area of Runsho. This Trek will unveil a region inhabited by Changpa Nomads, Wildlife, high pass, great Floras & Fauna and dramatic mountain scenery of Rupsho.

15. Liker to Khaltse Trek

Description: Sham trek is a mild trek, which is very convenient for easy hiker group and from Sight seeing point of view. There are many villages and monasteries on this trek. This is the only trek that can be done throughout the year, as there are no high passes. This trek passes through many small villages. It is very famous among tourist as Baby trek.

16. Lamayuru to Hemis

Description: Lamayuru, the oldest monastery is situated on the starting point of this trek, which finishes at Hemis the Richest and most famous monastery of Ladakh. There are many Passes on this trail. It passes through Hemis national park, established to preserve snow leopard and other wild animals. But there is only 10% chance to view a snow leopard. Further it enters beautiful valley of Markha, which is overshadowed by many Peaks. The high pasturelands to graze yaks & goats are dotted with animals.
