Nimoo- Padum-Darcha road construction work progress reviewed
Padum- Darcha sector to be completed within next two years, says DG, BRO

KARGIL:
The road construction progress of the Nimoo-Padum -Darcha roads was inspected by the Lt. Gen. S.K Shrivastava, Director General, Border Roads Organization (BRO) on July 21 during his visit in Zanskar sub division.

The DG was informed by the representatives of Zanskar about the slow pace of work and demanded immediate intervention in speeding up the road construction works.

The DG was accompanied by Tenzin Sonam, Executive Councillor for Zanskar Affairs, S.K Doon, Chief Engineer Vijayak and Skalzang Wangyal Councillor, Padum. 

DG informed that the Padum- Darcha Sector shall be completed within next two years time and the work on the 20 kilometers stretch between Kargyak Village and Shingula will also be executed soon.

A public representative informed about the requirement of highly sophisticated machines besides additional machinery and man power to cut the heavy hard rocks on the remaining portion of Nimo-Padum sector.

An aerial reconnaissance of the ongoing road construction work between Anmo village and Shingu La was also conducted.
