Around 480 boys and girls in Kargil participate in mega football tournament

Inter-zonal district level Mega Football tournament under Let’s Play co-branded with Khelo India started on April 5 at Khree Sultan Chow Sports Stadium, Kargil.

The tournament was conducted for both boys and girls under the age of 12, 16 and 19 categories. Around 480 boys and girls from different zones of the district including Kargil, Sankoo, Shakar-Chiktan and Shargole participated in the tournament.

Advocate Muhammad Amir, EC, Youth services and sports addressing the participant said that sports and studies are two sides of the same coin and a proper blend between the two assumes significance if the youth are to develop as successful citizens of tomorrow. 

He further added that a sound mind can rest in a sound body and for a sound body physical activities are most important adding sports are centred with human values of patience, cooperation and team spirit. 

In the final match under 12 boys category, Kargil Zone clinched the trophy by defeating Tai Suru Zone by 3 goals while as Sankoo team lost to Kargil by 2 goals in Under 16 Boys category. 

Aga Syed Toha, District Youth Services and Sports Officer, Kargil, Zonal Physical Education Officers, coaches and the staff of Youth Services & Sports Department, Kargil were present on the occasion.
