Training for functionaries of Anganwadi Services Scheme held in Leh

More than 45 Child Development Project Officers, Supervisors, ASHAs, and Anganwadi workers from different blocks of Leh district attended five days long Vertical Training Programme on July 8 at DC Conference hall.

The training for the functionaries of Anganwadi Services Scheme was organised by National Institute of Public Cooperation and Child Development (NIPCCD) Regional Centre, Mohali supported by Deputy Commissioner, Leh.

Gyal P Wangyal, CEC stressed upon the trainee staff to ensure the need for taking the knowledge to the grassroots level through their active participation for the overall empowerment of the staff of ICDS of the district.

Training on Anganwadi services under the umbrella of ICDS, schemes related to women and children like Scheme for Adolescence Girls (SAG), Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), National Creche Scheme, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao was imparted.

The Regional Centre officers made a request for the provision of air-fare assistance for the purpose of training and exposure of the employees at Delhi and Chandigarh centers.

Gyal P Wangyal assured of taking up the issue with concerned authorities at State and Centre levels. He said that until then training must be conducted here in Leh annually.

Expressing satisfaction over the overall performance of the ICDS centers, he said that the presence of ICDS centers with the schools garners friendly school sense among the young lot.

Assuring full support from the Council, he expressed hope that the workers will draw optimum benefit from the training programme and will act as master trainers to share their knowledge and experience with other colleagues at their respective ICDS centers.

Dr. M. Bharat Kumar, Regional Director, NIPCCD Regional Centre, Mohali, K. Sunita Seshadri, Deputy Director, NIPCCD, Regional Centre, Mohali and Anand Kumar, Assistant Director NIPCCD New Delhi spoke on the occasion.   

Kunzes Angmo, District Programme Officer ICDS Leh expressed hope that the workers will take maximum benefit from the training and bring them into proper use.
