Additional District Development Commissioner, Leh, Sonam Nurboo, JKAS, on January 17, chaired a review meeting to assess the progress of saturation of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri–Jan Arogya Yojana (AB PM-JAY) and Aadhaar coverage in the district. The meeting was held at the Mini Conference Hall, DC Office, Leh.

During the meeting, a detailed review of the issuance of AB PM-JAY health cards (Golden Cards) was conducted. Issues related to discrepancies and duplication in ration card data were discussed, particularly their impact on village-wise beneficiary figures. It was emphasized that accurate village-wise population data is crucial to achieving complete saturation under the scheme.

To address these issues, it was decided to constitute a committee to conduct village-level surveys. The committee will also segregate data related to Army and paramilitary personnel to clearly identify eligible civilian beneficiaries. Follow-up actions, including the issuance of formal communications by the committee, were discussed to ensure timely achievement of targets.

The meeting also reviewed Aadhaar enrolment of children in the 0–5 years age group. It was informed that enrolment in this category would be strengthened with the active involvement of ICDS functionaries to improve coverage.

The Additional District Development Commissioner directed all concerned departments to ensure close inter-departmental coordination, data accuracy, and time-bound action to achieve full saturation of AB PM-JAY and Aadhaar in the district.

The meeting was attended by the Director, AB PM-JAY, Ladakh; Chief Education Officer, Leh; Chief Medical Officer, Leh; District Informatics Officer, NIC, Leh; Assistant Director, FCS & CA, Leh; and Assistant Manager, UIDAI, Ladakh.
