PM Shri School teachers undergo four-day training on holistic progress card in Leh

The District Institute of Education and Training (DIET), Leh, on January 1 organised a four-day Capacity Building Programme on Digital Holistic Progress Card for Headmasters, Head Teachers, and teachers of PM Shri Schools in Leh district.

The four-day workshop was inaugurated with great enthusiasm and academic fervour in the august presence of the Principal, DIET Leh, Mirza Mehdi, along with Head of Departments (HODs) DIET Leh, Tsering Yangdol and Sonam Lamo.

The workshop is a significant initiative aimed at empowering Headmasters, Head Teachers, and teachers of PM Shri Schools by strengthening their leadership capabilities and enhancing classroom practices in alignment with national educational reforms.

The primary objective of the programme is to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the vision, objectives, and framework of PM Shri Schools. The training focuses on key thematic areas such as competency-based learning, the Holistic Progress Card (HPC), and their linkage with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Special emphasis is also being laid on the implementation of NIPUN Bharat for assessment of students’ learning outcomes, maintenance of the School Leadership Network (SLN), and numeracy record training.

In addition, the programme will cover topics including Vidya Pravesh, school infrastructure, and optimal utilisation of educational resources to create inclusive and child-friendly learning environments.

The workshop is being conducted by eminent experts and resource persons from PM Shri Schools, Dhanas and Sector 18, UT Chandigarh, namely Dr. Ravinder Kumar, Suman Lata, Jaspal Kaur, Naina, and Manika, who are sharing their rich experience and expertise with the participating educators.

On the inaugural day, Principal DIET Leh, Mirza Mehdi, extended a warm welcome to the resource persons and highlighted the importance of continuous professional development for teachers and school leaders. HOD DIET Leh, Tsering Yangdol, also gave a brief introduction to PM Shri Schools.

During subsequent sessions, participants engaged in in-depth discussions and activities related to various dimensions of PM Shri Schools, with a particular focus on understanding and effective implementation of the Holistic Progress Card.

The workshop is expected to significantly contribute to strengthening teaching–learning processes and fostering holistic development in PM Shri Schools across Leh district.
