Nubra celebrates 77th Republic Day at SDM Office Complex, Diskit

The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at the SDM Office Complex, Diskit, in Nubra Sub-Division.

The celebrations began with the unfurling of the National Flag by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM), Nubra, Mukul Beniwal, IAS, followed by the rendition of the National Anthem.

A colourful and well-disciplined march-past was presented by contingents from Ladakh Police, Government Higher Secondary School Diskit, Government High School Partapur, Government Boys and Girls Middle School Diskit, and Lamdon Model School Diskit, adding grandeur to the occasion.

Addressing the gathering, the SDM highlighted the significance of Republic Day and emphasized the importance of upholding the values enshrined in the Constitution of India. He paid tribute to the great leaders who sacrificed their lives for the nation and expressed gratitude to frontline workers for their dedicated service under challenging conditions. He encouraged all to continue striving for excellence in their respective fields.

On the occasion, special trophies and certificates were awarded to a progressive farmer, students, and departmental staff in recognition of their exemplary service. The prize distribution ceremony also honoured students for their outstanding performances, with trophies awarded for excellence in the march-past and various cultural events.

The event was graced by Tehsildar Diskit, Tufail Iqbal, as the Guest of Honour, and Colonel Pradeep Singh, Commanding Officer, 110 Military Hospital, Hunder, as the Special Guest. Heads of various departments, officials, and a large number of members of the public were also present.
