Lifting of curbs reflects public trust in UT administration: LG Kavinder Gupta

Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Kavinder Gupta, chaired a high-level security review meeting at the LG Secretariat, Leh, on October 16 to assess the overall law and order situation and review the prevailing security scenario across the Union Territory.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Director General of Police Dr. S.D. Singh Jamwal, DIG CRPF P.R. Jambolkar, Deputy Commissioner Leh, Senior Superintendent of Police Leh, CO 79 Sanjay Kumar, CO Rajat Jain, and other senior officials.

Officials briefed the Lieutenant Governor on the prevailing situation in the UT, reporting that peace and normalcy have been fully restored. They informed that schools, colleges, government offices, and public institution are functioning smoothly, while essential services and public transport continue to operate without interruption.

The Deputy Commissioner, Leh, apprised that all restrictions — including Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) — have been formally lifted, marking a complete return to normalcy across the region.

Lt. Governor Kavinder Gupta commended the civil and police administration, security agencies, and the people of Ladakh for their exemplary role in maintaining peace, harmony, and stability. He lauded the collective spirit and cooperation of citizens and civil society organizations, noting that the lifting of all curbs reflects the deep trust and confidence that the people have in the UT Administration.

Emphasizing the need for sustained coordination among all agencies, the Lt. Governor stated that continued collaboration is vital to preserve peace and ensure public convenience. He also urged citizens to remain vigilant and united against elements attempting to disturb Ladakh’s harmony and progress.

Reaffirming the UT Administration’s commitment to holistic and inclusive development, Kavinder Gupta underscored that Ladakh’s future lies in transparent, accountable, and people-centric governance, ensuring a secure and prosperous tomorrow for all.
