LAHDC Kargil launches ‘Padega Kargil Badega Kargil’ initiative to improve school education

CEC, LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd. Jaffer Akhoon, launched the ‘Padega Kargil Badega Kargil’ initiative on December 9. The programme aims to assess the overall development and learning outcomes of schoolchildren across the Kargil district.

The ceremony began with opening remarks from Deputy Commissioner Kargil, Rakesh Kumar, who outlined the objectives and structure of the initiative. He noted that a new transfer policy for teachers in the Education Department will be implemented based on the results of upcoming third-party assessment examinations. The policy is expected to enhance accountability and improve service delivery in the education sector.

Speaking at the launch, CEC Dr. Mohd. Jaffer Akhoon described the new transfer policy as a historic step, assuring that the process will remain transparent, fair, and merit-based. He emphasized that the initiative will significantly improve the quality of education, benefiting both students and teachers. He also commended the dedication and commitment of Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Kumar in uplifting educational standards in the district.

Dr. Akhoon further expressed gratitude to all Councillors of LAHDC Kargil for their continuous cooperation and support in finalizing and advancing the Education Department’s transfer policy.

Councillors present at the event also conveyed their appreciation to the Deputy Commissioner and the Education Department officials for their efforts to strengthen the district’s education system.

The event was attended by Executive Councillor Er. Punchok Tashi, Executive Councillor Aga Syed Mujtaba, Deputy Commissioner Kargil Rakesh Kumar, Councillors, Principal DIET Kargil, Chief Education Officer Kargil, Assistant Director Information, and other senior officers.
