DC Leh chairs meeting on telecom connectivity issues in Leh district

Deputy Commissioner, Leh, Romil Singh Donk (IAS), chaired a meeting on November 4 to review and assess the status of telecom connectivity in Leh district at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office.

During the meeting, the DC sought detailed updates from telecom service providers regarding the current network status, challenges faced in infrastructure setup, and the locations where towers have been installed. He also inquired about the number of proposals submitted by each telecom operator to further enhance connectivity across the district.

The DC directed all concerned officers to prepare and submit a village-wise report identifying areas with connectivity issues, available service providers, and the current stage of work completion. He instructed that the report be submitted by 2:00 PM today for further review.

DC Donk further stated that after receiving the reports, he would hold discussions with the Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs) to address connectivity gaps and coordinate necessary actions. He also informed that the next review meeting on telecom connectivity would be convened within the next 5–6 days to evaluate progress and ensure timely resolution of issues.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ghulam Mohammad (JKAS), Additional District Development Commissioner Sonam Nurboo (JKAS), Chief Planning Officer Tsewang Gyalson, Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Shabir Hussain, General Manager BSNL, Manager Airtel, and Manager Jio.
