Chairman and Chief Executive Councillor, LAHDC Kargil, Dr. Mohd Jaffer Akhoon, conducted a surprise inspection of the District Hospital Kargil on November 4 to assess the quality of healthcare facilities being provided to patients.

During the visit, Dr. Akhoon inspected various wards, reviewed the availability of medical services, and checked the heating arrangements within the hospital premises. He expressed satisfaction with the overall functioning of the hospital and the availability of essential facilities.

The CEC also interacted with several patients to gather firsthand feedback on the availability of medicines and the quality of medical care.

Dr. Akhoon directed the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) and Medical Superintendent (MS) to ensure that heating systems remain functional during morning and evening hours to maintain patient comfort. He further instructed that one doctor must remain on duty in the casualty ward and another in the labour room and general wards during night hours to ensure uninterrupted medical services.
