A training programme for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of Tai-Suru and Drass Tehsils was successfully conducted at the Conference Hall, TFC Kargil, on November 3.

Master Trainer Mohd Amin, Election Assistant, emphasized the crucial role of BLOs in maintaining the integrity of the electoral roll and highlighted the importance of precise SIR Mapping to prevent duplication or misallocation of voters.

During the session, Karbalai, an official from the Election Department, demonstrated the step-by-step process of SIR Mapping using the Voter Helpline App (VHA). Practical exercises were organized to help BLOs understand how to correctly map electors to their respective sections and families.

Participants actively discussed various field challenges, including identifying multiple electors within a single household, verifying residential addresses, and addressing data inconsistencies. Trainers also shared effective solutions and best practices to overcome these issues.

The BLOs were provided with sample data for hands-on practice and trained in real-time data correction techniques. The training programme, organized by the District Election Office, Kargil, is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the electoral roll management system.

The initiative aims to enhance the technical proficiency and field understanding of BLOs in SIR Mapping of electors, ensuring accurate and error-free electoral rolls.

The SIR Mapping training marks a significant step toward ensuring transparent, updated, and reliable electoral rolls. The knowledge gained will assist BLOs in effective field verification and data correction, contributing to the conduct of free and fair elections.
