Administration carries out ‘Back to Village’ programme in 16 blocks of Leh district

Different programmes under the ‘Back to Village’ project was carried out in 16 blocks of Leh district on June 23 under the supervision of  Avny Lavasa, DC, Leh.

The programmes include Gram Sabha, public interactions, the constitution of Social Audit Committees, interaction with social organisations, respectable citizens, visits of health centers, educational institutions, Anganwadi centers, field inspections of Languishing projects, MGNREGA works, water reservoirs, CA&PD stores, Public Health Engineering schemes, road projects, Panchayat Ghar and distribution of Schedule Tribe certificates, Rural Backward certificates, Soil cards, KCC loan cards, etc.

Highlighting the essence of Back to Village project, Avny Lavasa instructed the visiting Government officers to carry out the programme in their respective Panchayat Halqas promptly.

She urged upon the officers and Panchayat members to ensure maximum people’s participation in the programme so that future developmental initiatives are taken on the feedback and cooperation of the people thus ensuring a decent standard of living to the people.

The ‘Back to Village’ programme has been started on June 20 and Government Officers have reached in all the 95 Panchayat Halqas of Leh.

Meanwhile, Mohd. Taqi, SDM Nyoma also launched the B2V programme in Nyoma Subdivision bordering with China, by introducing PRIs and Line Department.  Scheduled Tribe certificates, Rural Backward certificates, and KCC loan cards were distributed. 

SDM along with the Sarpanches and other concerned officials inspected and assessed the functioning of MGNREGA works, water reservoir of PHE, Primary Health Centre, educational institutions and Anganwadi Centre in the village.
