Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kargil, Imteeaz Kacho, conducted surprise inspections of various government department offices on January 7 to monitor staff attendance and assess the efficiency of public service delivery. During the inspection tour, the ADC visited the Office of the Chief Education Officer, the Department of Cooperatives, and the Office of the Tehsildar, Kargil.

The ADC scrutinised attendance registers and reviewed the status of sanctioned leaves. Latecomers were reprimanded on the spot, with the ADC issuing a firm reminder on the importance of workplace discipline and punctuality.

Kacho interacted with staff to ensure that public grievances and departmental work are being addressed without unnecessary delays. He instructed all department heads to ensure 100 per cent punctuality, directing staff to report to office and commence work by or before 10.00 a.m. and remain available during office hours until the close of the business day to serve the public efficiently.

“The public should not suffer at any cost,” ADC Kacho stated. “Providing prompt and efficient service must remain the primary objective of every government official.”

He further warned that such surprise inspections would continue across departments during both morning and afternoon sessions to maintain high standards of administrative transparency and accountability.
