Constituency: Chushul
CHUSHUL, Tuesday, September 20, 2016 :
Chushul Constituency covers Phobrang, Lukung, Maan, Merak, Spangmik, Khakted, Chushul and Kargyam.
Because of the world famous Pangong Lake, there is a high influx of tourism which has given a source of income for the people who have merely depended on agriculture and mainly on livestock.   However, increased commercial activities and lack of waste management mechanisms around Pangong Lake area, have equally contributed towards the risk of fragile ecosystem imbalances. Besides harmful ramifications of environmental pressure such as water scarcity, lack of mobile network connectivity has added additional fuel to the fire to the villagers.

Diskit constituency covers Khardong, Pharka, Rasermo, Khalsar, Diskit, Rongdo,  Ronjuk, digar , Tangyer , Khema, Khyungru, Labab and Agyam.
The problem of Diskit constituency of Nubra starts right from the very famous and the highest motorable road in the world, Khardongla Top. The toilet at Khardongla Top is in a very filthy and bad condition which is maintained by the army. There is a desperate need for a public convenience at Khardongla as it is the main water source for the people of Leh. The present condition is really pathetic and polluting the water source. BASGO, Wednesday, August 17, 2016 :
Basgo constituency comprises 5 villages namely. Taru, Umla, Nimo, Bazgo and Ney. The whole constituency faces a major problem of drinking water facilities. Villages like Taru and Umla complained about the presence of insects in the streams. Despite taking this matter to the concerned department no action has been taken up seriously. Lack of drinking water is one of the serious issues which need to be solved in the whole constituency.
The devastating flood has changed the whole scenario of Ladakh.  Yet, we find another concern about the permanent restoration of the streams and head works.  It is a second important issue which has to be carried up on an important basis.  Stray dogs have created a danger to the people and livestock of Nimmo and Basgo. Despite the complaints about the issue, no action has been taken.

Because of the project the installation of submersible and Hand pumps has been stopped. Today many of the families are not getting water from the tank; people are suffering from drinking water scarcity. They take water from the old hand pumps which are contaminated as proven by the doctors.  People are left with no choice other than using it....
