Leh DC reviews departmental annual expenditure status
Directs NIC to conduct training on GST and general tendering for government employees

A review meeting to assess the annual expenditure status 2017-18 of all the government departments was convened by Avny Lavasa, Deputy Commissioner on April 4 at DC Conference Hall, Leh.

The meeting was attended by all the head of the departments.

Avny Lavasa spoke of the calculation mistakes and financial irregularities on part of the departments highlighted by internal audit. She informed about the decision of having quarterly reconciliation between department, treasury and DC’s office in presence of CCF, Hill Council with the purpose to rule out miscalculations and other budget-related issues well on time.

All the officers were directed to follow proper procedure with written approval and estimated the cost to undertake any project or task.

She also advised them to have a proper plan, administrative approval, technical sanction and to cross-check their budgets before final submission. Also, she directed NIC to conduct training on GST and general tendering for the government employees.

Considering the deplorable condition of government quarters, she said that this year efforts will be made to repair government quarters in Leh and other blocks as per need and priority.

Appreciating the officers for the good capex budget expenditure, she urged them to take out bills on time and to avoid random expenditure towards the end of the financial year.

Discussion on the expenditure details of all the department was carried out and the HOD’s has been asked to submit the required information and papers on the following day.
