Ladakh Gonpa Association reforms after 2 years dispute

A meeting was held with the members of Ladakh Buddhist Association and representatives from all the sixteen monasteries in which the two-year-long dispute between Ladakh Gonpa Association was solved cordially on September 12 at LGA office, Leh. 

Tsewang Thinles, President, Ladakh Buddhist Association said, “It is a new day for the entire Buddhist community of Ladakh. With the advice of all the Rinpoche and senior monks from different monasteries, we have been able to solve the issue. Also, the association will work actively under the leadership of Geshes Lobzang Samstan till the commencement of new election.”

He further added that the reinstatement of the Ladakh Gonpa Association will further bind the Buddhist community together and strengthen the Buddha Dharma.

Responding to the media queries, LBA president alleged that the conspiracies are played behind the faith conversion and keeping in mind the population size of the Buddhist community in the state LGA reformation was a need of an hour.

All Ladakh Gonpa Association was founded by the 19th Kushok Bakula Rinpoche in 1949. It is run by a governing body consisting of members belonging to all four major schools of Tibetan Buddhism.
