If there is a will, there is a way’ and with this motto I started Reach Ladakh web page in the year 1999. Moving with the same motto, today, Reach Ladakh has come a long way proving a landmark for Ladakh as the only internet news site from the region with its readership increasing every year.

Our main objective at Reach Ladakh is to disseminate regional news from Ladakh and promote Ladakh as a prime tourist destination in India. One can log on to this web page to get all sorts of news on social, development, sports and other burning issues from Ladakh besides, tourism related information like accommodation, adventure, cultural and eco tour, trekking, etc. Through this web page we have tried to portray Ladakh to the outside world by giving a brief description of its art, culture and tradition, festivals, cuisines, institutes, religious practices et al.

After completion of post graduate degree from Pondicherry Central University in 1998, I joined the tourism sector and have been involved with it for the last 10 years. I own a tour and travel agency named Overland Escape and Reach Ladakh is its sister concerns; a step taken forward with a social and some personal motive. After traveling widely throughout India, Tibet, European Countries, Malaysia, Cambodia, Bhutan and Nepal, I see this endeavour our Reach Ladakh team getting the fruit of success gradually because in all these places I get to hear a mention of our web page with favourable feedbacks.

We also bring out a bi-annually Ladakh tourist guide book under the same banner ‘Reach Ladakh’. It is a fully researched based book to present an immaculate and complete picture of the places to the reader. If you plan a tour to Ladakh both the web page and the guide book will be of great help to you in planning, preparing and operating your tours to this region.

As the editor of the website Reach Ladakh it would be my utmost endeavour to disseminate news and views from Ladakh catering to a wide range of readership, besides, giving a complete package of tourism related information.

Much in the tandem with the company itself, its media section has come a long way since it was started in 1999 in the form of a web page but at present our team comprises the proprietor Mr. Tundup Dorjey, managerial staff Mr. Tsewang Lobsang, freelancer Yangchan Dolma and your editor cum reporter Rinchen Dolma. It’s just been six months that I have taken the editorial charge of this web page and I have made the best possible efforts in terms of reporting to present the news events objectively and timely. We regret the inconvenience caused to you because of poor internet connection here that fails us to update the news on timely manner.

Reach Ladakh is one of its first kinds in Ladakh that has wisely availed modern technology to take Ladakh beyond the mountains and make it known to the rest of the world. Based on the comments that we receive I can say it with great conviction that people not only outside Ladakh but outside India are finding this web page of great use in terms of news and tourism related information from Ladakh.

Celebrating the success of Reach Ladakh, recently, we have re-designed our web page making it more users friendly and more informative. Keeping in mind reader’s interest, this time we have categorized the news items under various sections like social, development, sports, and city buzz, besides, we have also introduced an opinion/editorial page to provide an avenue for social responsible journalism and a forum to present every state of the society of Ladakh that our company greatly believe in.
